Who Am I?

I have a strong belief that local communities are increasingly important and that people who can listen and advocate for what is right for the community are needed more than ever.
Elected as a Borough Councillor in 2023 I have thrown myself into the role of councillor, working hard on behalf of my residents, both at Council meetings and around the ward. I welcome the challenges having had many opportunities to meet residents, take up various local causes and to contribute to the council committee work at the core of a councillor’s role . I’m really enjoying working as a local representative and have achieved a number of successes, including a two year successful campaign which has resulted in an HGV ban being implemented through our town.

I am an active participant in a number of council committees, as well as Vice Chair of Overview and Scrutiny.

I've lived in Weybridge for over 20 years and my two, now grown up, children went to school here. I love being active in the community and am to be found out and about daily, exploring the local area with my two labradors - Dexter and Jasper.
I worked for IBM throughout my career and enjoyed a number of senior roles as a member of the UK Human Resources management team. As a trusted advisor, I forged strong working relationships, handled complex and sensitive matters with discretion and diplomacy, building a track record of successfully solving problems and dealing with complex issues. I feel I am putting my business experience to use in promoting the interests of all residents, local businesses, the wider Weybridge Community and Elmbridge Borough
Since taking early retirement I've developed many new interests and have become more involved with the local community through volunteering. More formally I hold roles as

-
Elmbridge Borough Councillor - Weybridge & St. George's Ward (May 2023)
-
Member of the Weybridge Health Centre Patient Participation Group
-
Governor at St James Primary School.
-
Co Chair of Weybridge Community Rail
-
Trustee and committee member of WAHGA (Weybridge Allotment Holders’ and Gardeners’ Association).
-
Trustee - Oatlands 1914-1919 War Memorial Allotments
-
A member of the South East Region committee (covering Surrey, Sussex and Kent) of the National Allotment Society.
I tend to my much loved allotment plot and actively bring the allotment community together by running charity quiz nights and mentoring allotment gardeners.
I love to be busy and always have a project on the go! I'm a keen environmentalist, a passionate advocate of diversity and am really enthusiastic about representing the needs of Weybridge residents and contributing to local affairs. I have a strong belief that active local communities are increasingly important.
It is an honour to represent Weybridge St George’s Hill ward, and a responsibility which I have taken on seriously and with full commitment.”
